Pulling 3500 guests on the night, the 5th MK Awards was held on Saturday 26 February at Cape Town’s International Convention Centre.

Hosted by local comedians Corne and Twakkie the awards honoured the best in South African music by awarding 13 categories, and received more than 560 000 votes through Facebook, MXit, SMS and, of course, the MK site.
Amongst many, there were performaces by Foto na Dans, Zebra & Giraffe, Jack Parow ft. JR, Van Coke Kartel and Die Heuwels van Fantasties, who won the award for Best Group. After the awards ceremony, things got hot and sweaty with one small seed TV presenter Imaan Macquena at the afterparty held at The Assembly, as she made it her mission to find out how everyone got to ‘spreading their seed…’
