Cape Town based Remy Gold embarked upon a mission to create a beat on his Akai Pro MPC500, in just one day.
Length:03:09
The video below shows how it all went down.
Remy Gold started out as Remington Steel in Cape Town 2002 playing funk/soul and hip-hop at Asoka and then met Dj Kenzhero who became his partner-in-beats. They started playing together at Marvel and at various other venues in Cape Town.
He then returned to London in 2005 where he held a residency at The Absolut Ice Bar. On his return in 2009, he started his residency at The Waiting Room on Thursdays.
With bass music being his first love, Remy also produces music using various analogue equipment. He has always loved all styles of music, and you can catch him playing his entertaining sets that explore many genres in and around Cape Town. What can you expect? A whole lot of dirty bass/2step/hiphop/glitch hop!
