At Sowing the Seeds — the lead up event to Rocking the Daisies Music Festival later this year — we interviewed organisers Complete Events, as well as local muso favourites 7th Son, The Dirty Skirts and The Little Kings, before capturing all three bands live in action. The event took place at the Scarborough Farm House in Cape Town on 10 April 2010. Rocking the Daisies is South Africa’s only eco-friendly festival, placing the environment at the forefront while keeping the party spirit pumping.

The 11th Cape Town International Jazz Festival took over the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in the Mother City over the Easter Weekend in April 2010. From international musical heavyweight to local musos, the halls were packed with lovers of the smoother kind of tunes. one small seed was there and caught up with BLK JKS before catching the performances of Lira and George Benson. April 2010 saw the 11th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Every year thousands of music lovers flock to Cape Town to hear the smooth, grooving tunes of both international and local maestros, with over 32 000 visitors attending last year’s festival. The one small seed tv crew attended this year’s event and chatted to attendees about their favourite performances and overall thoughts on the festival. They also captured exclusive footage of Soil & Pimp, Vusi Mahlasela, George Benson and Jonathan Butler. Watch it now.

In late February 2010, The Assembly — based in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD —hosted some of the country’s hottest acts. With the likes of The Plastics, Jack Parow and Gazelle taking to the stage, the night was set to be a down and dirty affair in the spirit of truly original hip-popping and head-bopping tunes. At this year’s 31st Loerie Awards that were themed ‘Feed Your Ego’, music maverick Jax Panik performed live as the event’s opening act. For those of you who were unable to attend the prestigious ceremony, one small seed has sourced live footage from the night. From 9-11 October 2009, some of the countries hottest bands, DJs and comedians, as well as thousands of music fans, flocked to the idyllic wine farm to celebrate all things musical. Through sweltering hot days and frosty nighttime temperatures, the musical madness was unstoppable and the festival was a massive success. The one small seed tv crew was on hand to capture all the action onstage and to chat to bands backstage after their sets.
