Launched in October 2005, one small seed is an independent South African media powerhouse, consisting of a quarterly print magazine (one small seed), a blog (onesmallseed.com), a social network (onesmallseed.net), online TV (onesmallseed.tv), a photography publication (Picture This), a production company (one small seed productions) and a series of events (celebrate.this).

one small seed is foremost a platform for showcasing creative talent – no matter how big or small its seed – from small South African businesses and garage creatives to international artists, musicians, architects and designers. We provide a global platform for local creativity, wherever in the world it may originate.

On 14 March 2011 one small seed relaunched its online platforms in conjunction with the unveiling of the brand’s freshly redesigned identity. Each of its three primary sites have been moulded to its own unique goal: Inform, Interact and Entertain.

This is the big relaunch. one small seed has repurposed its homepage as an informative blog to showcase global creativity. Updated daily, the site features articles, videos, audio tracks, an image gallery and more. It’s a creative hub for people who want a complete, easy and informative site with articles about global pop culture. one small seed’s networking site is a creative community of likeminded individuals. Upload your own photography, artwork, articles, music and videos, while interacting with community members and the one small seed team. Interaction breeds creativity and this is the premise for this site. It’s also a stepping-stone for your work to be featured on onesmallseed.com, Picture This and one small seed magazine.
