Carlos Lascano’s animated film, A Short Love Story, is shot Stop Motion and 2D animation. The heart-warming love story discloses a young girl’s dream life, journeying from the moment of her first kiss to old age. Created, directed and produced by the multi-talented Carlos, he blends different techniques to achieve his phenomenal work, which has had the one small seed team in awe. Using the best organic material and other textures to create his characters and settings, the composed shots come to life when they are composed in After Effects. He handcrafts quirky furniture, which has captured the attention of industry fundies and the public alike. Following its roaring success at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 2009, Relationsh!t took to the New Space Theatre in Cape Town’s Long Street in September. The show stars Vanessa Harris and Ash Searle and takes a comedic peak into the relationship between men and women – from the miscommunications to the intimate relations. Every year Grahamstown plays host to The National Arts Festival, South Africa’s biggest arts festival. Entertainers from around the world make the trek to this frosty Eastern Cape town to indulge in ten days of the top offerings of the arts, from dance to music and beyond.
