Virgin Mobile Fashion Week Cape Town

The city’s fashionistas descended on the Cape Town International Convention Centre between the 13th and 16th of August for this year’s Virgin Mobile Cape Town Fashion Week. Local designers like Maya Prass, Gavin Rajah, Darkie, Doreen Southwood, Lalesso, Stiaan Louw, Sway, Rosenwerth, Craig Port and numerous others enthralled the crowds with their latest collections. Though the couture on display was undoubtedly of the highest international standard, the prevailing emphasis was on prêt-a-porter ; more street-ready and accessible than conceptual and elitist. Aside from the incredible catwalk shows, a selection of chic after-parties rounded off the week-long event in style.
